Businesses that catch, produce, process or capitalize on direct or indirect food products intended for human consumption and whose revenues stem mostly from sales to retailers (e.g. supermarkets, fine grocers, pharmacies, boutiques, etc.) hotels, restaurants, institutions or industries. This excludes all direct sales to consumers. (See the Commerce category.)

Businesses that feature the Bio-Food industry with activities such as: agritourism, providing restaurant services, accomodations and organized activities on farms.

Note: Social economy and technological and technical innovation businesses that meet the criteria of the Bio-Food category should be submitted in their respective categories and not in the Bio-Food category.

Businesses whose revenues stem mostly from sales to retailers, wholesalers and industries and that exploit natural resources or that process or produce semi-finished or finished products, with the exception of Bio-Food products intended for human consumption.

Businesses whose revenues stem mostly from marketing products sold wholesale, retail or directly to consumers.

SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS* - presented by 

Businesses that provide services to the public; including businesses involved in restaurant or lodging activities.

Note: Businesses that feature the Bio-Food industry must be submitted in the Bio-Food category.
 



SERVICES TO COMPANIES* - presented by

Businesses that provide services to other businesses or organizations.

Note: Businesses that feature the Bio-Food industry must be submitted in the Bio-Food category.
 



SOCIAL ECONOMY - presented by

Businesses that are managed independently, operate democratically and promote the primacy of people and work over capital in the distribution of their surpluses and revenues. They generate independent revenues through the substantial sales of products and services to individuals, companies or the government.


Note: Only nonprofit organizations and cooperatives must be submitted in the Social Economy category.



TECHNOLOGICAL AND TECHNICAL INNOVATION - presented by

Businesses that create new products, procedures or applications based on new or existing knowledge.
