Winners of special prizes are selected in conjunction with the partners offering these prizes. The criteria listed below are used in an initial selection process. More detailed criteria determined by the partners are then used to select winning projects. All decisions made by the special juries are final and cannot be appealed.
SPECIAL PRIZES FOR BUSINESS CREATION AWARDED TO REGIONAL FINALISTS
All projects or businesses that are entered in the Contest and become regional finalists are eligible for the following prizes if they meet the criteria established by the sponsors, regardless of whether or not they are regional winners.
Place aux jeunes du Québec and Canadian Youth Business Foundation Prize ($5 000)
Each region (with the exception of Montréal and Laval) recommends from among its regional finalists the candidate or candidates whose project shows the greatest potential for allowing young entrepreneurs to set up a business in a regional county municipality affected by the exodus of young people and where Place aux jeunes is present. Thus, the business plan should demonstrate that the promoter(s) are 18 to 35 years old and that the creation of a business will have impacted their decision to live in a region outside the main centres. The provincial winner will be selected by the partner organizations and will receive a prize of $5 000.

INTERNATIONAL PRIZES – Les Offices jeunesse internationaux du Québec (LOJIQ)
The LOJIQ is awarding three international prizes—namely, the Office franco-québécois pour la jeunesse Prize, the Office Québec-Amériques pour la jeunesse Prize and the Office Québec Wallonie Bruxelles pour la jeunesse Prize—to send a representative from each winning company on a business trip to France, a country in the Americas, and Wallonia-Brussels, respectively. Three companies selected from among the regional prizewinners will benefit from an international business trip for having demonstrated ability and interest in establishing lasting business contacts within the given territories. These trips will allow the winning businesses to carry out a trade mission for the purpose(s) of meeting experts; developing products, services or markets; establishing trade relations; and importing and exporting. These trips will contribute to the development of the businesses.
The winning businesses will each delegate one person between the ages of 18 and 35 to make the business trip abroad. This person can be an entrepreneur, an employee or any other person mandated by the business who satisfies the age requirements for the prizes.
Office franco-québécois pour la jeunesse Prize: A grant of $2000 will be awarded to the winning business to cover costs for air transportation, health and liability insurance, as well as living expenses while in France. The prize also includes professional assistance with organizing the trip before departure and one night’s accommodation upon arrival in Paris. This grant is non-negotiable and must be used within 12 months after it has been awarded.
Office Québec-Amériques pour la jeunesse Prize: A grant of $2000 will be awarded to the winning business to cover costs for air transportation, health and liability insurance, as well as living expenses while in a country in the Americas. In addition, several provincial partners will support the Contest by increasing the value of the prizes awarded in the different regions of Québec.
Prizes in cash or in free services could be awarded at the local level.
