Information that goes outside the prescribed space will not be processed. This description will help in the analysis of requests for financial assistance submitted in the context of the MELS Introduction to Entrepreneurship Measure.

2. What community need or issue does the project deal with? (2 lines)

Example: The group set up a household battery recycling service.

4. Who is the target audience? (1 line)

Example: Steps in carrying out a project: Obtaining information on battery recycling. Forming work committees. Distributing the collection containers and setting up the collection schedule. Promoting the service. Collecting the batteries.

Step 3

In the case of projects eligible for the Introduction to Entrepreneurship Measure (and if applicable), complete the electronic "Declaration of Enrollments" form, which is available at http://www.mels.gouv.qc.ca/entrepreneuriat in the section Introduction to Entrepreneurship Measure, and click on Documentation and forms.

step 4

Prepare a project application package. The document Preparing your application package has been designed to help project supervisors and participants in the Student Entrepreneurship division build up a complete application package and provides adequate information on the steps involved in carrying out the entrepreneurial project.

The document also contains general instructions for preparing an application package, a definition of an entrepreneurial project, a list of the elements that the application must contain, and three tables illustrating a hypothetical project and specifying the student tasks, the project time frame and the entrepreneurial skills developed by the participating students.

Although there is no strict limit to its length, the Contest representatives suggest that the application package should not exceed 25 pages, to facilitate the work of the jury. Also note that pages can be printed on both sides. It is recommended that you enclose photographs of the finished products in the application package (if applicable).

The information contained in the application package must be as complete as possible, to allow the jury members to grasp the nature of the entrepreneurial projects and the activities it involves. It is essential for the students to be involved in the implementation of the project by actively participating in decision making and performing tasks, and this must be reflected in the application package.

The application package for projects in the elementary and secondary school categories may be prepared in whole or in part by a student, a group of students or the adult responsible for the project. The latter may provide participants with whatever help they need to present their application package to best advantage. If the adult responsible for the project drafts the application, the students are nevertheless required to describe the project, as stipulated in the document "Preparing Your Application Package," under point 1 of the section on elements to be included.

Vocational training, adult education, college and university students, because of the knowledge and skills they have already acquired, should present projects that are more advanced than those submitted at the elementary and secondary levels, and are more likely to have an impact. The Contest expects applications from these students to have a more complex design.

PLEASE NOTE:

The application packages as well as all the accompanying documents will be destroyed at the end of the evaluation procedure. The registration forms will be used for research and statistical analysis.

step 5

Send to the local Contest representative your complete application package and your entry form in five copies, no later than 4:00 p.m., March 15, 2010.

step 6

Local contest representative will ensure that the application package is complete; only after this verification is done will they be able to confirm that the project is registered in the Contest. The project will then be analyzed by the jury members using the evaluation criteria.

file management fees

No registration fees will be charged by the local contest representative or organization for Student Entrepreneurship projects.
